The DC-origin duo GEMS continue their Every Full Moon series with a new entry marking the July 9 full moon in Capricorn. “You In My Dream” puts the twosome’s knack for melodic writing at the fore, the track’s tuneful sweep adeptly suited together to spare drums and guitar. Now living in England, 21-year old PARKER spent her formative years in Australia. For PARKER, new track “Runs & Rides” is thematically a re-animation of that time in her life,
“Runs and Rides as a phrase, conjures up ideas of escapism for me. As a child it was riding my bike around these bumpy small town backstreets and then as a teenager, it was speeding around in cars with the music turned up loud, driving nowhere in particular…we’d sneak out on the weekends and drive around, go to parties, drink on the beach, fall in love. I just really romanticise those years in my head, so I wanted to capture them…it all feels so much more exciting the first time around.”
The track is a sleek turn of chunky inventive rhythm structures, a cool percussive vocal melody, and a sheen on top of reverbed guitar jabs and synth menace. We’re very pleased to B3 premiere “Runs & Rides” new from PARKER for Killing Moon Records.
French band Fellini Felin construct from on new one “Come To The Fore” what is a very unique palette of sounds. Without losing track of any listen-ability or melodic quality, FF manage a sound that (at least in our estimation) no other band quite sounds like right now. The mix of reverb-y guitar and deep in the PA vocals with “Come to the Fore’s” claps-driven rhythm track is a very cool twist. Listen to “Come To The Fore” below.
The collaboration that I never knew I needed dropped earlier this week when James Vincent McMorrow teamed up with San Holo to create a tune titled “The Future.” The vocalist lends his sultry folk stylings to San Holo’s class future bass sound to create an epic electronic atmosphere with a subtle country vibe. This tune is perfect for summer so get outside and enjoy!
“Reset in Colour”, new from UK band LOYAL, springs out from that elusive intersection of accessibility, a great tune, interesting non-contrived production and some sense of meaning/weight to it. There’s no limit for LOYAL.

The London-based Slowlights profile continues to build up following supporting slots with Eliza and the Bear and Lewis Watson and spins from BBC London.
