the most handsome man in manchester is back! we’re not exactly sure what the word “stellify” even means, (being high on x pills maybe?) but whatever, if ian brown says it, its got to be cool. props to dj time stretchon this killer sped up version.

Bei Bei – “Stronger” (Feat. Georgia Anne Muldrow) (Floating Points Remix)

wow! there’s so much that’s ill about this track. …man, when the beat drops @ 0:42 ….or about 1:30 when ms. zheng goes into the mideast-tinged vocal tailing …. 2:36 when the heavier synth enters the mix ….and wow, that outro! and that’s only really the start, there’s just so much incredible shit going on in this remix. we’re blown away. bei bei’s “beauty and the beats” EP is due in september.

Freeland – “Borderline”

freeland-music

why this dude is choking some chick, we have no idea. but we were like, shit if you’re gonna choke somebody, and have a picture of you doing it… on your bands myspace, then we’re posting it..

right. so, Adam Freeland is a DJ and producer from the UK, now based in LA. His new LP Cope is co-produced by Alex Metric and showcases a random hodgepodge of musicians including Joey Santiago from The Pixies, Twiggy Ramirez from Marlyn Manson, Tony Bevilacqua of Distillers/Spinnerette and yes the amazingly talented Tommy Lee from Motley Crue. BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE.. with guest appearences from Soundpool, Brody Dalle (Distillers/Spinnerette and does guest vox on “Borderline”) and DEVO’s Gerald Casale. haha all that and then he recruits some random named Kurt Baumann to front the thing. which is cool and good for that dude, it’s not like he sucks, but wtf?! either way, the result is some pretty dec electro rock… still every time that beat hits, just can’t help but think about Tommy Lee’s late 80’s arena drum masturbation

Yourself and The Air – “So You’ve Come To Mingle”

yourself-and-the-air

Yourself and The Air are heading out on tour again in September and will be making their way to MusicFest Northwest in Portland, MidPoint Music Fest in Cincinnati and more… including LAs beloved Knitting factory 9/10. Which we will in fact be at, but only after we snap our picture out front with big bird and rock that step circuit class upstairs at la fitness. concert venues + shopping complexes = why the fuck not

b3science had the chance to chat with this up and coming group from Chi-town not too long ago, hot off the heels of their daytrotter session. they do it proper. check it

Pissed Jeans – “False Jesii Part 2”

more or less as a rule, we’re down with any band that has the word “pissed” in its name. pissed jeans are a rock and roll band from allentown, pa and are signed to sub pop. their sophomore LP “king of jeans” (maybe the album title of the year) is out aug 18. we could put on a tight black shirt but we don’t bother either.

Kid Cudi – “Day N Nite (Feat. Prince) (Terry Urban & Crookers Re-Edit)

cuyahoga county, we see you! cle native terry urban remixes the remix. mr. urban recently migrated to brooklyn, ny (not oh…booooooo!) but we won’t hold that against him. instead, we’ll offer him a free lunch with us (on his dime) at mama santa’s or sokolowski’s. hell, we’ll hit up that e.4 bullshit (lola? yeah?) as long as we’re not paying! CLEVELAND GO HARD.

their debut The Broken Side of Time drops September 22 via ATO. we’re stoked. every time a new track comes along from these cat’s, i’m like fook! these guys kick it. “Leave Us And Forgive Us” is a newbie and is available via their website (see link below). “Ramblin’ Home” is from their 2007 EP The Thief & The Heartbreaker.

definitely gotta get us some of this live, after Lolla they hit cleveland burning river festival? cleveland?! will keep you posted.. especially as new tracks surface.. if any southern sounding rockers are gonna get a push from the Kings of Leons’ success, it’s these cats.

The Hot Rats – “I Can’t Stand It” and “Drive My Car”

the-hot-rats

a new supergrass side project produced by nigel godrich of radiohead, beck, travis, McCartney, REM, etc fame that showcases Gaz and Dan recording some of their favorite tunes. and low and behold, it sounds like well… supergrass covering songs. SURPRISE!

now, we like the songs and their version of The Velvet Underground’s “I Can’t Stand It” particularly kills it. and we dig supergrass. but do we like side projects focused on cover songs? well i guess who cares what we like..
