Jamie Lidell – I Wanna Be Your Telephone info buy it jarvis cocker’s long lost twin goes Prince on “I Wanna Be Your Telephone” and we LOVE it. everything we’ve heard off Jamie Lidell’s forthcoming Compass LP indicates that it is nothing short of one seriously diversified and ambitous project. there’s nothing more we love than an artist who has the balls to GO FOR IT. Compass drops May 18 via WARP. get it.
Aloe Blacc – Take Me Back info buy it
we LOVE this. “Take Me Back” is the b-side to Aloe Blacc’s I Need A Dollar 12″. b-side??? if dude keeps it up he just may be able to pull one of these someday. dude needs a dollar, and dammit he’s earned it. so buy it!
Giggs – Don’t Go There (Feat. B.o.B) info buy it
London rapper Giggs hooks up with man of the hour B.o.B. for a collabo that delivers. need we say more?
Wale – Kini Big Deal info buy it
in case anyone missed it, Wale offered a new track “Kini Big Deal” via his twitter on the 4-20 holiday. the way we look at it, it’s never too late to celebrate. and speaking of big deal, Wale just helped nudge this jam from last summer into our head..

Corinne Bailey Rae – Are You Here info buy it
“Are You Here” is off Corinne Bailey Rae’s sophomore LP The Sea, released earlier this year via EMI. a beautiful song that boasts some dare we say Thom Yorke-esque melodies?
Nikki and Rich – Cat and Mouse info buy it
“Cat and Mouse” is a nice little pop tune from Nikki and Rich’s Next Best Thing release.
lookin like a fool with your pants on the ground. cee-lo “wants you” to check out his new jam previewed on gilles peterson a couple days ago. soul dudes kings go forth go anti-clockwise killing it with a syrupy sweet curtis mayfield-y flow on “one day”. walk round town with your pants on the ground.
“A Million In the Morning” is new from Jay Electronica! the track is inspired by, and is the theme song, to the original motion picture of the same name, which is about some dudes trying to beat the World Record of going 123 hours without sleep. i could never do that.
“Let Go” is the new single previewed here from Los Angeles collective Everest. their forthcoming sophomore record, On Approach, will be available everywhere May 11th via Vapor/Atlantic. OR if you are lucky, you still may be able to get your hands on one of the 7″ singles left over from Record Store Day.
Everest have toured with the likes of Neil Young, Wilco, and My Morning Jacket, and hit the road again today with Minus the Bear, concluding with sets at Bonnaroo and KCRW. be sure to catch them! to sum it up, “Let Go” is a great song that has words like HIT and SUMMER JAM written all over it. and if you don’t have this track stuck in your head the rest of the day after just three listens (and can prove it), then you have just earned $1.00, courtesy of b3science. deal?
big day today folks. Record Store Day is in full swing, and dammit we were patient so now it’s time to indulge. some may call us fat-asses and gluttons when it comes to music. and we might agree. anyway here’s a few, more to come..
Blur – Fool’s Day (Rip) myspace don’t be like fur ball, get off your ass and buy the 7″
if you’re like us, then you’ve been waiting for waaaayyy too long for some new Blur. “Fool’s Day” delivers. Damon “Chameleon” Albarn and the boys school us all once again with nothing short of another classic track. there’s no way a new record can’t be in the works… please? do yourself a favor and watch this.
The Rolling Stones – Plundered My Soul myspace we all know the Stones got a shit-ton of $$$, but dudes earned it. buy Exile!
fucking love the Stones. I wish there was a rock and roll band from my generation like these guys. 1. who will I want to still watch rock-out when i’m in my sixties? 2. what band will actually have 10 additional “never-before-heard” tracks from one of my favorite albums, a truly epic record, from 40 years prior? time will tell. 2012 still won’t stop the Stones, can you imagine?
dynamix puts “still d.r.e.” over the xx. …and like candy to a baby or charlie sheen to a hooker, we really can’t resist. lean that, work that, etc, side to side. word to wee for the track!
“The Ghost Who Walks” is the new single and title track previewed here from model/songstress/wife of Jack White – Karen Elson’s debut LP. the album, also produced by hubby Jack, will be available everywhere via Third Man/XL on May 25. the track is whimsical and drab, yet elegant in all the right ways. we especially love those keys..
like it and BUY it, because if you don’t… you may end up like this. somebody just did us all an awesome.
sharon jones could sing the phone book and we’d still be psyched. maybe a possible collabo in future? la metro yellow pages we’re looking at you! the new (awesome) dap kings lp “i learned the hard way” is in stores/internetz now.
