The Raveonettes do their take on the madchester classic, “I Wanna Be Adored” by The Stone Roses. we think king monkey might be proud but you never know.. either way we’ve been waiting… and waiting to hear this cover for quite some time.

word on the street is that Noel Gallagher has been on the prowl for a new backing band… enter Liverpool’s The Sand Band. one listen to “Set Me Free” and we get it. that plus degrees of connection to The Coral, and the fact Chris Sharrock’s son (Jay) is in the group, and it all comes together.
so the good news is that these guys are pretty awesome. the less-good news is that noel’s upcoming tour won’t be solo. guess that’s ok, we still have moments like this to hold on to…

the Manic Street Preachers are back with a new track from their 10th studio effort, Postcards from a Young Man – expected September 27th. the band has claimed that the album will be “one last shot at mass communication”. either way that pans out, this track is some solid britpop and it’s great to hear these guys still in fine form.
