Tulpa & BLANKTS – Antidote

“Antidote” by Tulpa and Blankts is a gem. This alternative pop record tells a story from start to finish. It’s interesting use of vocal chops and warm sound design really sets it apart from what we’ve been hearing lately. Make sure to head to SoundCloud to listen to the rest of their discography. Enjoy.

San Holo – I Still See Your Face

San Holo delivers his signature sound in his newest track entitled, “I Still See Your Face.” The sweet melody of this track has stayed stuck in my head for a few days. It’s emotional, fun, and quirky all at the same time. Check out this track, and catch him in your city during his upcoming world tour.

Kainalu – Love Nebula

Kainalu’s sweet psychedelic vibes won me over within seconds on his track, “Love Nebula.” If you’re a fan of Toro y Moi or Washed Out, definitely check out this guy. I think this one-man-band is here to stay and I’m definitely looking forward to more music from him.

Premiere: Cautious Clay – Cold War

We love this song! “Cold War” new from Cautious Clay blends a diverse melange of styles into a remarkably accessible and listenable pop song (this song could be a hit on pop radio right now) that we can’t stop spinning. Born and raised in our hometown of Cleveland and now relocated to Brooklyn, Cautious Clay is the project of musician Josh Karpeh. Josh describes the track, “A lot of times, love for someone begets patience and/or complacency, but not the other way around,” he reflects. “That’s why catching feelings is simultaneously uplifting and disruptive to personal identity for many people.” Stream the B3SCI Premiere of “Cold War” from Cautious Clay below.

Premiere: Upstairs Open – You Got Love

“You Got Love” is the debut track from Upstairs Open, the UK-based duo of Daniel James and Courtney Paynter. Buoyed by magnetic set of melodies and a cinematic in style arrangement and rhythmic churn, the James Earp-produced (Fickle Friends, Bipolar Sunshine) “You Got Love” introduces Upstairs Open as very talented arbiters of alternative pop. Stream the B3SCI Premiere of “You Got Love” from Upstairs Open below and look for a forthcoming debut EP from the band soon.

Premiere: Cosmos & Creature – Ride the Wave

The rapidly rising L.A.-based duo Cosmos & Creature are back today with potent new one “Ride the Wave”. The twosome who count a Spotify US Global #1 and opening slots with John Mayer and James Bay in their C.V. excel further forward on “Ride the Wave” a big accessible pop crossover-ready track complete with the hook-writing aplomb to conquer streaming charts around the world. About the creative genesis of the track, the duo says, “We wrote “Ride The Wave” about taking your first step when you can’t necessarily foresee the outcome. It’s about learning to embrace the journey over the destination, and more importantly making your own future. We hope this message empowers people to go after what they love & believe in, even when facing adversity.” We’re very pleased to premiere “Ride the Wave” from Cosmos & Creature below.

Premiere: Sean Christopher – Paper Plane Pilot

Dutch musician in Bristol UK Sean Christopher streams great new track “Paper Plane Pilot”. Mr. Christopher whose song “Everything” sync’d internationally in an Audi commercial pulls particular inspiration for this new track from his father’s flamenco guitar playing. The track itself excels on that swerve-y texture in route to a very listenable and magnetic bit of guitar pop. We’re very pleased to B3 premiere “Paper Plane Pilot” below and look for Sean Christopher’s debut LP Yonder forthcoming from Dumont Dumont.

Ben Stevenson – No Better Way

Canadian artist Ben Stevenson knocks down many of the key points of the School of Sade songwriting book without aping the great Ms. Adu or coming off as a sound-a-like. We like.

Fhin – Irreversible (Feat. Chloe Black)

So much soul wrapped into a sleek four-minute package. “Irreversible” new from French producer Fhin and featuring a vocal from fave Chloe Black is one of those perfect intersections of top of the game production, a stunning set of melodic lines and really great arranging. <3

Luke Marzec – Another Guy

One of our favorite records of 2017 is “Another Guy” the first track online from Luke Marzec. Galvanized by a raspy, very soulful main vocal and and neatly juxtaposed instrumental elements (hushed 1/32 note electrics mark out an otherwise woozy outer space aesthetic), “Another Guy” is a very strong debut.
