Blackbird Blackbird – Happy With You

Blackbird Blackbird delivers maybe his strongest track yet with “Happy With You”. A bit more conventional to traditional pop songwriting structures, the new track adeptly mixes some neat synth atmospheres, great counterrhythmic programming and smart melodic elements and bends them through that new structural focus to deliver a most excellent song.

Jens Lekman – Erica America

Beef Boy Jens is back with “Erica America”. The track which is excerpted from the due in September LP I Know What Love Isn’t gathers the best of ’70’s jazz-influenced Dad Rock (hands clenched, shoulders braced for that sizzling sax solo) with more modern melodic textures.

Two Wounded Birds – If Only We Remain

“If Only We Remain” is the second single from Two wounded Birds’ forthcoming self-titled and debut album. The track showcases the quartet’s unmistakable knack for brit jangle (that you know we love) and appreciation for classic American pop. The video for the song was premiered this morning via FILTER. Grab the album June 26th.

The-Dream – Dope Bitch (Feat. Pusha T)

So we’re not the biggest Dream fans out there (although a b3sci’er can put on for a little “Shawty is a 10” when the inspiration strikes) but “Dope Bitch” ticks enough dope b3sci track boxes to get a little run here. You’ve probably heard this one before, but for what it is T. Nash executes and Push could rap on a beat this fine in a coma. Get it.

Lucy Rose – Lines

“Lines” plays true to the sweet sounding sparseness that we’ve all come to know and love from the young UK based singer-songwriter Lucy Rose, but more so, the song branches into new musical territory where a mix of instrumentation, syncopation and counter-melodies clearly share in the greater vision. It’s a substantive vision of an artist who clearly has lots (and lots more) to say. Lucy Rose’ debut album Like I Used To will be released on September 24. Mark it down.

Zella Day – 7 Nation Army

The seventeen years young song-stress Zella Day recently dropped this hauntingly delicate twee folk rendition of the White Stripes standard. We’re sure it does Jack proud. #RADAR
