Daughter’s remix for band bestie Warpaint’s “Feeling Alright” is the return remix to Warpaint’s hyperdrive re-do of the Daughter track “Winter”. Daughter’s “Feeling Alright” mix is replete with atmosphere and cinema and ruddered by decisive piano stabs and whirling pieces of percussive guitar.

We loved earlier this year Stwo’s Drake-directed beat “With You”. Here, Bristol UK emcee Luui speaks through a set of cadence-perfect bars creating a stunning intersection of narrative and instrumental.

There must be more to UK new-comers Fine Print than meets the eye. A few weeks back the anonymous collective caught our attention with their debut track “About You” and now their latest “Can’t Lie” gives us something more to latch on to. While more than ever it seems R&B has become the standard go-to inspiration for so many new artists (of all genres), Fine Print so far stand apart from the crowd, with nothing short of grade A pop songs. Something that time and time again has proven the ability to outlast that new car smell which too oft fades away with hotly tipped projects.

The pensive and plaintive “Now You Know” is new from hypem hitmaker Bryan Sammis a/k/a Olivver. Built on a simple series reverbed guitar chords, chunky distorted bass and Sammis’ R&B-infused vocal, “Now You Know” is another A+ entry to the former Neighbourhood drummer’s catalogue of singles.

German band Champions, who somewhat appropriately draw from a similar instrumental palette as Phoenix, offer a rhythm-driven mod-pop send-up to The City of Light on “Roaming in Paris”.

Sekuoia is 21 year old Danish producer Patrick Madsen. New track “Waves” is a dynamic twist of far-off reverb’d vocals, magnetic layered percussion, and exotic instrumentation. The blend of the particular diffuse yet complementary elements contained on “Waves” is especially brilliant and new. We are loving it.
