Small Talk – Erase Me (Feat. Ava Lake & Maizy Lind)

smalltalk

The new low-key under-the-radar hip-hop fusion producer Small Talk (not to be confused with two different North American bands of the same name) has recently turned out a string of short and sweet, beautifully loaded vocally-superb tracks. On their third and most-recent release Small Talk teams up with talented young Chicagoland songstresses Ava Lake and Maizy Lind on a gorgeous, wonderfully simple acoustic cover of Kid Cudi hit “Erase Me”. With such a fresh well-executed cover under their belt, Small Talk who first surfaced in March with the lovely-vocaled beat-centric debut track “Bitter Sweet”, has us enthusiastic to hear more outstanding beats and fresh collaborations to come. White Reaper – I Don’t Think She Cares

unnamed (8)

Polyvinyl-signed band from Louisville KY White Reaper share irreverent track “I Don’t Think She Cares” from forthcoming debut LP, White Reaper Does It Again. Clanging bass, protopunk half-time drums and the controlled chaos of neatly dynamic distorted guitars, “I Don’t Think She Cares” has our attention.

HAELOS – The Sun Rising

haelos

HAELOS are an extraordinary new act out of the UK, the band’s penchant for harnessing broad in scope sound and cinema in their tracks (reminding aesthetically a bit of Massive Attack) within the frame of minimalist engaging composition is outstanding. Each new track from HAELOS is an EVENT! for us as listeners and fans. The band have just signed to Matador to release their debut EP which will include this spectacular new cover of 1990 track “The Sun Rising” by The Beloved.
