Foals – Mountain At My Gates

foals

Give an ear to the upbeat-understated psych-guitar reverb’ed atmospherics and deeply soulful darkly-lit quietly-rioting vocals on new track “Mountain At My Gates” from Oxford, UK five-piece band Foals who B3 recently discussed in regards to their righteously punked-out EP debut track “What Went Down”; both songs come off of Foals’ upcoming “What Went Down” EP that releases via Warner on August 28th. Kaytranada – Come Clean (Hilary Duff)

kaytranada

B3-current vibe setter Kaytranada charms our whacky pop-culture sentiments with a beautifully composed (insanely catchy) on-a-fun-note twist on some A+ classic back-in-the-day Hilary Duff material. We think Katyra excels at a 10 out of 10 for his pop-sensibilities on this kitchy fresh-vibe jazz-infusion rip of “Come Clean”, a song that you probably once loved yet have somewhat long forgotten (until now). NoMBe – Miss Mirage

nombe

In March we felt totally transfixed (in a good way) by the fresh and imaginative radio-ready sound of Noah McBeth on his catchy-hooked viral-breakout hit “California Girls” which he created under his new nom de act called NoMBe. Not surprisingly the stupendously talented new LA-based artist just released another excellent darkly-textured trap-centric equally-as-catchy (to Cali Girls) hip-hop-rapper-tinged new one called “Miss Mirage”; which impresses us immensely with its poetically-spun lyrics and deeply-electrifying atmospheric-synth-charged moments of moody glory. We absolutely love the muted-pace, far-out-expansive vocal harmonies and superb quietly-dedicated folk-guitar melody of “Miss Mirage”. NoMBe is one to keep an ear on. Reviewed by Erin Shay

Nocturnal Sunshine – Intergalactic

nocturnalsunshine

Delve into the dreamy beat-driven deep-house expanses and sweetly-incessant vibrantly-imagnative tropical rhythms of “Intergalactic” an excellent new dub-based dance track from Nocturnal Sunshine; the newly-revived (so-far-so-awesome in 2015) solo-side-project from UK producer Maya Jane Coles; who B3-featured in May (as Nocturnal Sunshine) for her dub-heavy dark-pop-inspired Chelou-vocaled original gem track “Believe”. Both songs are off Nocturnal Sunshine’s new May-released self-titled second EP which is out via her own label I/AM/ME. Reviewed by Erin Shay

Les Loups – Stay (Feat. Marie Dahlstrøm)

lesloups

Take your mood to upbeat-mellow with “Stay” the sweetly-positive vox-enhanced easy-listening vibe gem track from Hamburg trio Les Loups (Phil, Felix & Toni) who effectively relish in some bright and lively disco-based rhythms and choice instrumental accents (love the piano stabs) to complement the emotive alto-vocals of B3 featured artist London-based Dane rising-star R&B songstress Marie Dahlstrøm; who last wowed us with her upcoming-summer-solo EP debut Sophie Faith/D.K. the Punisher-featured track “Look the Other Way” (which we love for its deeply-expressive melody). The new pop-leaning upbeat-summery disco-vibed “Stay” is the final installment off Les Loups’ artfully-presented single trilogy following “Colourblind” and “Out of Sight” (check them out on Soundcloud). Jetson – Bonita

jetson

We’re into the impressively-smooth subtly-robust beats and seamlessly well-constructed Tribe-sampling ways of New Zealand producer Jetson (who is also one half of NZ hip-hop duo Chill Children) on his short and sweet, totally excellent new one “Bonita” which especially grabs us for its classic-essence expansive-vibe horn accents, quiet rhythmic syrupy-slow-paced charm and sunny melodically-expressive jazz-piano-toned perspective. A+ hip hop. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Paces – Hold It Down (StéLouse Remix)

stelouse

We’re hooked on the uniquely-catchy sultry-seductive vibes of sing-along-worthy new one “Hold It Down” the beat-based live-instrumentals-enhanced new jam from Denver-native StéLouse, a musician and DJ/producer who B3 last covered for his synth-touched trap-beat-centric dark-dub-facade remix of Jack Ü’s smash hit “Mind”. We dig the new track’s golden-touches of guitar (from Joseph Shull), sublimely slow undercurrent of percolating bass-line grooves (Noah Matthews) and jazzy sax embellishments from B3-watchlist trap/house/jazz aficionado Masego. Excellent stuff. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Lane 8 – Loving You (Moon Boots Remix)

lane8

Brooklyn-based producer, sonic cosmonaut and B3-blog steady Moon Boots (as per his dance-friendly dub-dark boogie-disco usual) turns in a sensational mood-setting disco-tinged tropical deep-house late-night dance twist on buddy-pal Lane 8’s beautifully-emotive slightly-more-muted Lulu James-vocaled recent-release “Loving You” (off 8’s new already-out debut album). Moon Boots captures a rad trance-y mind-body dance-floor dynamic on the remix by meshing the deep-in-the-mix female vocal with his own subtle-melodic synth tones and grounding sub-aquatic summer-heat-tinged dark-sided bass-line (that we love). Great vibe. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Lose yourself in the sublimely dreamy far-in-the-distance calm-in-the-the-air vibe, carefully-subdued instrumental atmosphere and softly reverberating mix of guitar and melodic vocals on the new mind-soothing trickle-paced track “Wyoming” from B3 new artist find Heather Wood Broderick, who excels on the track (which also features Peter Broderick on drums and Dave Depper on bass) for embodying a catchy, intangible and evocative soulful melancholy in her vocal delivery that may remind of Slowdive. Alex Burey – Waiting On Tomorrow

alexburey

In February B3 featured the submarine-depth Pink Floyd-esque expansive-vibe “Family Stone” EP lead-single “Come Over” from London-based songwriter and accomplished pianist Alex Burey which is off his second self-produced four-track EP to release this year after “Inside World”. We like Burey’s September-release vintage-vibe new jam “Waiting on Tomorrow” which revels in a unique-sounding Burt Bacharach folky-crooner vocal style, 60-70’s horn-filled soul-funk instrumental accents from vintage revivalist band The Dap-Kings and Burey’s contrastingly strange slightly-lamentful lyrics which meld quirk-ily with the track’s cheery instrumental sentiment (in a good way).
