Twinkids – Dreamer

twinkids

Get familiar with the gleaming synth-spun sound and immensely-fresh poetic-romancey straightforward-sexy vocals of TWINKIDS an Oberlin-bred LA-based laptop-pop duo who recently released their career debut track “Dreamer” which is out on LA label CSCN, the new singles label of faves Cascine. We’re impressed immensely with the duo and are psyched for their full length project slated to be out soon. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

GAIST – Damage

gaist

Get lost in the jumbo-sized techno-crazy bass-line groove and ubiquitously full-throttle metallic percussion of new track “Damage” from an artist called Gaist. At just over 9 minutes long the track is a sonic black hole of perceptions and profoundly moody sonic sentiments. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Calico – Fold a Winning Hand

calico

Get familiar with Small Pond Recordings-representing artist collective Calico, a Brighton progressive instrumentals quintet who are about to launch their alluring fresh-eclectic-vibe self-titled debut EP on October 19th. The group beautifully blends together a mixture of influences on the EP (from jazz, folk and rock to classical and electronica). We’re into the EP’s debut track “Fold A Winning Hand” for its righteously-creative instrumental sound, somber-playful-dynamic and beautifully-varying jazzy horn-fangled moodscapes. Beautiful vibes. If you agree, check out Calico on tour now starting with this Saturday night at London’s The Islington. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Niteppl – Whispers

niteppl

San Fransicso indie-dance/pop/disco producer duo Niteppl (Alton and Saywer) recently released their second EP named “Nu Flesh”. We particularly appreciate the EP’s second track “Whispers” for its sunny-day dreamy-hazy melodic-calm vocals and new-wave-vibe 80’s-sentiment cinematic synth-y ooze. The guys liken themselves to “The Beach Boys meets Justice” and we concur. Great track. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Zak Abel – Say Sumthin

zakabel

In February B3 covered top-talent singer-songwriter Zak Abel for his refreshingly-soulful Rudimental-esque Joker-produced debut-EP track called “Alchemy”. We’re completely into his vocals yet again on new track “Say Sumthin” which is Zak Abel’s newest Kaytranada-produced creation which (in our eyes) beautifully expresses his catchy songwriting appeal and rising-star-potential cheery sugary-sweet melodic Rudimental-esque style vocals. Of course we also love the retro-vibe synth-y emotive strings-led ethereal-ambient instrumental handiwork of B3 fave producer Kaytranada. Great collaboration. Reviewed by Erin Shay.
