Acclaimed LA artist, producer, and composer Flying Lotus teams up with Seattle rap set Shabazz Palaces and LA-bred multi-genre bass player/singer Thundercat for a new collaboration called WOKE; which according to Fly Lo in an interview with Pitchfork was named for the trio’s feelings on “dreams and stuff and astral experiences”. We’re into the eclectic-star-packed project’s very vibe-y mood-drenched atmospheric first single “The Lavishments of Light” which showcases Parliament-Funkadelic legend George Clinton. Not surprisingly, we’re totally into their new fourth EP track called “Jam” a soulfully stylish boogie-inspired funk-guitar-grooved track which we love especially for its vibrantly-bright melodic piano chords and superb vocals.
