Lea Beiley x J. Roosevelt – Subtract & Divide

leabailey

This summer we featured LA-based producer J. Roosevelt for “When I Run Don’t Chase Me” a deeply seductive lightly-simmering jazz-tinged electro-instrumental track. We’re into J. Roosevelt’s latest collaboration with Cali singer-songwriter Lea Beiley called “Subtract & Divide” which caught our ears immediately with its profoundly vibrant synth-driven accents, drippy slow-cadence percussion and divine sweetly-uplifting moody-sentiment vocals. Premiere: LZRS TXN – Let It Go

lzrstxn

LZRS TXN (Lazarus Taxon) is the newcomer duo of Austin-based producer Evil Earn and Boston emcee and singer Francis Sobotka. Debut track “Let It Go” turns about a space house instrumental frame fit to Francis’ contemplative bars and hits for us stylistically somewhere between mid-career Lupe and The Foreign Exchange. Stream the B3 Premiere of “Let It Go” from LZRS TXN below.

TEK.LUN – Where I Was Born

teklun

B3 new fave HW&W rep’d artist Baltimore producer/beatmaker Rashad Tek Williams, also known as TEK.LUN, outdoes himself on new jam “Where I Was Born” a luscious and whimsical dynamic-dub-infused sweeping-energetic synth-y mood changer which we dig immensely for its vintage vibe vocal sample and wacky-discombobulated set of prolific mismatched beats. WHEN I AM KING – Something Inside

wheniamking

“Something Inside” is the debut track from Liverpool band WHEN I AM KING. Judging from the track’s sophisticated writing and arranging, “Something Inside” is the work of a very talented crew. Consciously modern R&B but constructed in a way that sounds fresh, “Something Inside” is a caliber of track that demands attention and notice. So very good.

Manic Science – Funky Style (Feat. Lettuce)

manicscience

We adore the brilliant funked-out trumpet-washed simplicity of new track “Funky Style” the second joint-production between New York rhythm and culture duo Break Science and Chicago solo artist Manic Focus. The song, which showcases B3-recent feature NYC funk band Lettuce, is a well-composed lulling-meld of hooky dance-friendly instrumentals matched up beautifully with a super-catchy sample of A$AP Mob’s “Trillmatic”. Kudu Blue – Fallin’ Away

kudublue2

Brighton band Kudu Blue return today with excellent sophomore track “Fallin’ Away”. The follow-up to great debut “Bones”, “Fallin’ Away” operates in a similar, high level vein; where a more progressive state-of-the-genre instrumental ably frames a melodically strong/very accessible pop/dance vocal. It’s a potent mix. Listen to “Fallin’ Away” below.

BluBird – Wake Up

blubird

London-based Adriatic deep house duo BluBird, also known as Damjan Jovic and Tadej Gujt (DJ Dey), turn in a radiantly-spun guitar-laced indie-dance-y nu-disco radio-rip called “Wake Up” which we dig for its infectiously-chipper expansive-vibrant happy-go-lucky warm-natured attitude. Berhana – Janet

berhana

That’s some great melodic writing, isn’t? “Janet” is the A+ debut track from Berhana. Frank Ocean? Miguel? Those are indeed a couple of the influence points of reference bloggers are likely to throw around this guy but something here feels new and very special. We’re into it.

Joey Purp, Vic Mensa & Two Fresh – Still Got It

twofresh

In May B3 featured Nashville-born LA-based twin-brother electronic beat-maker production duo Two Fresh (Kendo and Shweez) for their bright and snazzy hella-mellow Towkio-Joey Purp collaboration “Gettin Throwed”. We’re quite impressed with Two Fresh’s latest bold and brazen dramatic-vocaled bass-line-groove-heavy hip-hop track “Still Got It” off the duo’s upcoming sophomore album called Torch. Featuring a few choice lines from SaveMoney artists Joey Purp and B3 fave Vic Mensa “Still Got It” revels in a fresh-vibe street-laced personality amidst oodles of Two Fresh’s flow-dynamic vocals and signature beats. Jay Prince – Afrophunk (Feat. SiR & Joyce Wrice)

jayprince

London hip-hop MC/producer Jay Prince teams up with Inglewood-based writer/producer SiR Farris on “Afrophunk” the gorgeous new lead single off Jay Prince’s latest eight-song “Beautiful Mercy” EP (out November 20th). A phenomenal start to the launch of “Beautiful Merc”y, new one “Afrofunk” features the sweet-sultry vocals of B3-highlighted LA songstress Joyce Wrice and the quintessential trumpet-fangled accents of new B3-fave Brooklyn musician/producer duo BrassTracks. We’re especially vibing the song’s great meld of thoughtfully-inspiring refreshingly-relevant anti-materialist self-love-encouraging vocals and its eloquently funked out horn-laden piano-chord-accented instrumentals. We totally look forward to hearing the new album! Reviewed by Erin Shay.
