HONNE – No Place Like Home

honne_001

B3 favorite UK dynamo duo HONNE have hit our pages many times this year with their supremely smooth vibrantly-emotive intensely-moving sexy-sultry vocal-led pop. Earlier this week HONNE hit the blog scene with the full dose of their new four-song “Over Lover” EP which features three uniquely awesome new tracks to follow the EP’s very good on-point (B3 lauded) recent release first single “Loves The Jobs You Hate”. We especially dig the sound of “No Place Like Home” the duo’s vividly-sensuous receptive-vulnerable Jones-vocaled track from the EP for its warm over-the-top romantic sense of true attraction and extremely lovely warm-hug-vibe melodic vocal duet. Not surprisingly, we love the very excellent sweet-spectrum of emotions and sounds on “Over Lover” and recommend it whole heartedly. Top quality stuff HONNE. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Astronauts, Etc. – Shake It Loose

astronauts

In June B3 covered Oakland five-member indie pop band Astronauts, etc. (which is led by frontman vocalist Anthony Ferraro) for their low-key wordy gem track “Eye To Eye”. We’re pleased to run across the band’s slightly-more-soulful emotive-approached new one called “Shake It Loose” a receptive vocal-led jam that draws at our attentions with its touching heart-strings-attached lyrical feels and moody-sultry melodic vocals. Another timeless piece of phenomenally straightforward profound material “Shake it Loose” is the fourth track to release off Astronauts, etc.’s upcoming debut full-length album Mind Out Wandering which is out on September 18th. Jamie Prado – Hit’em Off

jamieprado

Get familiar with the warmly-lit spacey-interstellar sunny-sensed synth-chord-heavy indie dance vibe of LA producer Jamie Prado on his slow-building beat-driven cosmic-ambient new one “Hit Em Off” which we think excels for its smoldering bass-line undercurrent and simple syrupy-mesh of hip-hop soul-touched male-female vocals. Khruangbin – White Gloves

khruangbin

Jazzy chords well placed in the context of a great pop song is a well-loved conceit at B3. The latest grande example of the styling we’ve found is “White Gloves”, the plainly beautiful new rainy day track from Texan band Khruangbin. Wow.

B. Miles – Salt

bmiles

Oooh yes. We like this one very much. “Salt” is the new track from B. Miles also known as Brenna Miles. Styled around dramatic hushed guitar chords , Ms. Miles’ warm and magnetic vocal, and washed in pitch-perfect tension and atmosphere, “Salt” is a track that we absolutely adore. Listen.

Lightboxes – Something Else

lightboxes

We’re into “Something Else”, the inventive new bit of rhythmic pop from South London duo Lightboxes. “Something Else” with its layered rhythms, instrumentally spare aesthetic and pinpoint alto vocal remind us (in a very good way) of Little Dragon’s best. The duo compose a unique live performance dynamic, singer Donna Thompson doubles as Lightboxes drummer and her songwriting partner John Atterbury plays upright double bass. Listen to Lightboxes impressive debut below.

Gavin Turek & TOKiMONSTA – Surrender

gavintoki

LA-native Gavin Turek (who was hand picked by Mayer Hawthorne to be a vocalist on his new B3-lauded joint project Tuxedo) teams up with longtime collaborator B3-blog frequent LA deep-house-guru TOKiMONSTA for a new brilliant track called “Surrender”; which we enjoy immensely for its superbly-balanced dance-centric bongo-induced instrumental temperament, sultry-precise r&b vocal style and beautiful human-interest unconditional-love-will-prevail infinite-artistic-creation message. For us the dynamic duo rate at a fresh 10 out of 10 on poppy compatibility with “Surrender” which has us keen to hear the lot of their new seven track soon-to-release (August 28th) mini-album called You’re Invited that is out via Young Art Records.
