Robin Thicke – Love After War

thicke

Thicke is back. Swagger intact, the smooth merchant delivers “Love After War”, the title track from his upcoming 5th LP. Our man Thicke on LP #5! Give it up one time for R. Thicke. OK, so how good is “Love After War”? It’s “pretty good”, it’s pretty standard Thicke, (which means this track will get any of our grown and sexy readers bodies movin’ on play one. We love you b3sci grown and sexy crowd!) For the not so grown and/or not so sexy, “Love After War” will make you feel like you are actually both those things and more.

THROWBACK SATURDAYS: Joe – Stutter (Feat. Mystikal)

joestutter

#1 for 4 weeks back in February-March 2001 and co-produced by the legendary Teddy Riley, the “Stutter” remix featuring Mystikal (who finally got out of jail not too long ago but who we still wouldn’t fuck with) still crushes. This song (or really any song that samples “Passing Me By”) could be released today and be a top 10 Hot 100 hit. Joe’s comin’ for you Pitbull. #dontbelyinwhenyouretalkintojoe

“Longer and Stronger” is track three on a new b-sides compilation of Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings material being put out by Daptone Records next month. “Longer and Stronger” is a solid example of the powerhouse soul Ms. Jones has built her career on.

Kutcorners – Diamond (Feat. Curtis Santiago)

soultrain

Oh yes. Kutcorners brings the funk and the “hits from the 80’s” on new track “Diamond”. From the second you press play, this shit will transport you instantly to a dope ass circa 1983 Soul Train dance line. It’ll be you, Don Cornelius, and a bevy of fine females doing “The Steamroller” as everyone in the vicinity loses their minds.

Alex Clare – Damn Your Eyes

alex-clare

Alex Clare, one of the dopest artists in any genre right now, recently cut this gripping (and we don’t use that word lightly) cover of “Damn Your Eyes”, a tune made famous by the legendary Etta James. It’s rare to hear an Etta song done so well, let alone by a male voice. Do not miss this one.

Wale – Lotus Flower Bomb (Feat. Miguel)

wale

According to Wale, “Lotus Flower Bomb” is the first official, real, actual Ambition track to be leaked to the interwebs. The smooth, “call up your girlfriend cause its gonna be a special night” track is all sorts of major radio hit material. R&B dude Miguel Jontel hooks up an easy, sticky, stays-in-your-head type hook to complement Wale’s choice focused bars. Wale sounds focused. He sounds ready. Ambition is due November 1st.
