Sherpa – Love Film

Sherpa Love Film Press Shot Lowres

We’re liking the 60’s psych pop-inspired (think Beatles, Byrds, Hollies, etc) new track “Love Film” from Auckland-based band Sherpa. Laced top to bottom with enough Crosby/Nash-esque melodic quality and a chorus that is especially/strong head-turning, “Love Film” demands your attention ASAP.

High Hazels – Hearts Are Breaking

high hazels

We’re digging the melodic reverb-drenched indie rock from newish band High Hazels. The UK-based group will release single “Hearts Are Breaking” (which you can sample here below) as part of a new 7″ for Heist or Hit Records on the 7th of October. Well done.

Blouse – No Shelter

blouse no shelter

The 60’s Nico/French girl-pop leaning “No Shelter” is new from Blouse. Single #1 from the band’s forthcoming Imperium record (due next month), “No Shelter” marks a bit of diversion stylistically for the Portland-based band vs. their 2011 more dreampop-y debut as the guitar/vocal are both much more up front in the mix, the synthesizers are all but vacated and the rhythms are somewhat emboldened. We’re digging it.
