Born in Devon UK but raised in Australia, Emmi, already a known commodity within the industry after working on the writing of tracks for Little Nikki and Leona Lewis makes her online debut with first original track “My Kinda Swag”. Operating in channel firmly anchored to 90’s R&B (think Aaliyah and Mary J. Blige), Emmi ably adds a modern and personal spin on that sound with the fresh “My Kinda Swag”.

“Just Words”, the new track from UK band The Night VI, probes the more R&B-side of the band’s sound with terrific results. The bit of melody in the chorus where keyboardist Kristy Burglass turns to falsetto and sings “are you saying something real” is just perfection. Look for a new EP, of which “Just Words” will be apart of, from The Night VI in September.

17 year old dePresno from Norway’s second city of Bergen (home to artists like Kings of Convenience, Royksopp, and Datarock) is very impressive on debut track “Forever”. Merging an aesthetically Krule-esque vocal (and hairstyle) to inventive multi-chromatic production (the range of sounds and ideas on “Forever” is particularly notable), “Forever” is a standout special debut.

We’re into “Flirt” a perfectly hazy pop tune from Auckland, New Zealand artist Boycrush. With the assistance of NZ pal foursome Yumi Zouma and NZ producer Madiera, new act Boy Crush excels with a flawless mesh of drum accents, simmering beats and slightly-mumbled sing-songy lyrics which are dipped in a lovely vibe of emotional truth. “Flirt” is the newest single from Boy Crush’s ‘Girls On Top’ EP that is out May 27th. “Swim” is the second song online from UK act Cape Cub. “Swim”, quite simply, is a very accomplished piece of pop songwriting from its mid-career Coldplay-isms in the verse to its overwhelming anthemic and uplifting chorus hook (we can very easily hear 100,000 odd festival go’ers chanting back “if there’s something that you to know” at the top of their lungs). Stream “Swim” below.
