Moxi – Terrible Disguise

Moxi is the Los Angeles-based team of singer-songwriter Anna Nelson and producer multi-instrumentalist Andy Toy. “Terrible Disguise” is the lead single from Nelson & Toy’s debut EP as Moxi, “In My Dreams”. Melodic clattering synths, big backbeats and a solid dose of adept pop songwriting make “Terrible Disguise” an excellent intro to the duo; see what you think below.

Club 8 – Kill Kill Kill

“Kill Kill Kill” by Swedish trip-hop journeymen Club 8 is likely the most chill pro-vegetarianism paean you’ll ever hear. Club 8 is currently wrapping up their 8th studio album, which should see release by year’s end.

Kandle – Knew You’d Never

The smokey slow burner “Knew You’d Never” is new from 21-year old Montreal songwriter Kandle Osborne. “Knew You’d Never”‘s hypnotic feel and repeated minor keyed guitar figures helps shroud the excellently written and constucted song in a powerfully withdrawn and remote atmosphere.

Justin Timberlake – Suit & Tie (Feat. Jay-Z)

Of course we love this. Still, everytime we hear the 50 year old man component of this track rap about make-up sex, it’s a little weird. Welcome back, JT.

MØ – Glass

MØ, who you may remember from her equally excellent “Pilgrim” single from last year, returns with the world music-influenced Santigold-esque “Glass”. For the track, complex labyrinthine rhythmic structures & hyperkinetic guitar melodies support MØ’s syrupy sweet alto. We are into it.

MAUSI – Move

Newcastle Italo-popppers MAUSI’s new single “Move” is synth pop realised at its highest level. The summer-in-the-bleak-midwinter feel of “Move” is boosted up by a veritable sundrenched blitz (“sundrenched blitz” yeah, we just took it there.) of hooks and melody. The “Move” single is due 4th March on the Loose Lips label (Azari and III & Chad Valley).

Hooks, hooks and then some more hooks from Vanessa Elisha on her debut track, “Blur”. Should be exciting to see what’s in store for this young pop R&B inspired talent.
