Premiere: Mr. Little Jeans – Waking Up (Turbotito Remix)

mrlittlejeans

We’re very pleased to premiere Turbotito (Filip from Poolside)’s electric new remix for Mr. Little Jeans’ “Waking Up”. On the remix, Turbotito selects for a kinetic swirl of technicolor synth and an infectious patter of rhythm buoyed by neatly placed syncopations. Spin the B3 Premiere of Turbotito’s new remix of “Waking Up” for Mr. Little Jeans below and if you’re on the West Coast look for MLJ in a town near you during the month of November.

Awir Leon – Wood

awirleon

We just discovered the sweet-nuance new-wave vibes of a song called “Wood” from Amsterdam producer (new-to-B3) Awir Leon which is #4 off the Nowadays-Jayfly tape. We’re totally into the track’s incredible mangle of moody atmospheric synth tones and superb emotive-broody vocals (which remind of David Byrne). Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Midnight to Monaco – Suicide (Jerome LOL Dub)

midnighttomonaco

We recently fell for the sweetly flippant dark-poppy attitude of “Suicide” the bold and immensely catchy brilliantly cheerful (a surprise in light of the name) recent debut single from artist duo Midnight to Monaco (Canadian singer Ricky Ducati and LA-based producer Donnie Sloan). We also appreciate the totally incredible moody-sensuous synth-led instrumental remix of “Suicide” from LA producer Jerome LOL; who we think beyond excels for his heavily-stylized spaced-out natural-percussion-touched melodic-cosmic atmospherics and well-chosen selection of peppy-toned ambient-vibe background vocals. Great remix! Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Mount Kimbie – Bells_5

mountkimbie

The esteemable Mount Kimbie streamed unheard track “Bells_5” on their NTS Radio show last night and have got us on a bit of a vibe with it. The synth strings-washed track is a 3:14 run through varying shifts of layered rhythm and well-conceived grooves that didn’t quite make the duo’s last LP. Listen below.

Premiere: Fickle Friends – Shake Her (POSTAAL Remix)

ficklefriends2

POSTAAL a Franco-British producer splitting time between Paris and London infuses the sonic oeuvre of both locales into new mix for Fickle Friends. Selecting for darkly current UK space-bass and merging that with a brush of warm French-inspired synth sonics, POSTAAL’s mix adeptly crosses several musical idioms as well as international borders. It’s cool spin on the FF sound that we dig, check out the B3 Premiere of POSTAAL’s remix of Fickle Friends’ “Shake Her” below.
