The be-cantalouped L.A. creative collective curated by Josh Ocean, NVDES is pleased to announce “Don’t Fvck Your Neighbor / The Other Side” as a AA-single on our B3SCI Records. Josh describes NVDES as “vibes with friends”, and the project’s songs result from many experimental collaborations with said friends (and in “Don’t Fvck Your Neighbor’s” case, actual neighbors) and draw, in their composition, inspiration from 50’s surf, 90’s alternative, campfire folk, hyphy, etc. The “Don’t Fvck Your Neighbor / The Other Side” is out today on limited 7″ pink vinyl, further details on the release can be found at B3SCI Records.
Montreal artist Patrick Holland releases today (4/8) as Project Pablo a new EP on Lone’s Magicwire label. New track “Evening Call” is a soulful uncluttered electric-piano driven track steeped in warm electronics and a calmed overall feel. Spin “Evening Call” below and look for Project Pablo’s “Priorities” EP out today.
Out tomorrow on B3SCI is “All Night Every Night / State Of Your Soul” the debut AA-side single from HOST. The AA-side is out 4/8 on limited black 12″ vinyl and features a cover inspired the photography of Karen Knorr. “Lost” is the latest stream from Iska Dhaaf’s forthcoming LP for Brick Lane Records The Wanting Creature. “Lost” is cool bit of blissed-out dark pop with a slightly menacing undercurrent (that distorted synth bass gives the song a cool sinister edge) fortified on very strong hook-driven writing. Look out for “Lost” and Iska Dhaaf.
Australian band Mansionair, the author of Hypem #1’s “Hold Me Down” and “Speak Easy”, are the recipients of an ace new remix from BK producer BAILE on latest track “Pick Me Up”. On the mix, BAILE, who’s produced strong past remixes for BAIO and Akiine, takes warmly spatial approach to “Pick Me Up” crafting an expansive but still emotively near new frame and atmosphere for Mansioair’s neatly composed tune. We love it. Stream the B3 Premiere of BAILE’s remix of “Pick Me Up” for Mansionair.
The French duo who haven’t released an album since 2006 (!) return today with a star-studded new track featuring Cat Power and the Beastie Boys’ Mike D. Despite the hiatus from releasing LPs, one half of the twosome Philippe Zdar has been active on the production seen; including heading up records from both Cat Power and the Beastie Boys. “Action” follows a vaguely Brazilian/tropical-styled beat with Ms. Marshall’s breathy coo atmospherically lilting about the track’s off-beat syncopations with living legend Mike D adding in a pair of slick rhythmic bars. It’s a very cool return for Team Cassius.
The stylish lounge-inflected house of “Pool Party” is the sort of “fancy sounding” vocal electronic music we can’t really resist falling for. Stunning track.
