Wingtip – Need Me

Wingtip is Brooklyn-based producer Nick Perloff-Giles. Back in June we gave the B3 stamp to the party track “Missing You” and now Wingtip returns this week with equally strong follow-up in the form of “Need Me”. We dig the cool juxtaposition in the track between it’s more melancholic vocal bits vs it’s otherwise dance-pop instrumentation. About “Need Me”, Wingtip said similarly, “The sound of a guitar in reverse for some reason always sounds kind of mournful and nostalgic to me, so putting it over this otherwise upbeat instrumental gave it this kind of bittersweet quality that just connected.” Get into “Need Me” below.

Indian Wells – Racquets

Indian Wells will release “Racquets” on August 26th through Bad Panda Records. The word “hypnotic” gets thrown around a lot when describing music of “Racquets” ilk but the track truly is of the hypnotic, mesmerizing, magnetic, etc quality facilitated by a “sounds of tennis” main rhythm figure, kaleidoscope droned synths, and a great sense of pacing, dynamics, building of tension. Listen below via Boiler Room.
