BaloJi – NazonJi Ndako, Pt. 1

balogi2

on the rise Congolese Belgian mc from africa, BaloJi, samples the Marvin Gaye classic “I’m going Home”. while we’ve no idea what he’s saying, it’s safe to assume the track address his album’s quest for, as his website puts it – “the identity of a man in his early thirties”. “Nazongi Ndako (Pt. 1)” is previewed from his latest release Kinshasa Succursale expected September 15th. track is chill. memorial day weekend chill. GET INTO IT!!

Darker My Love – Dear Author
Darker My Love info
a few days ago we featured a cover-tune from LA collective Darker My Love from the forthcoming The Psychedelic Sounds Of The Sonic Cathedral: A Tribute To Roky Erickson And The 13th Floor Elevators collection. today we’ve got “Dear Author”. a NEW track from Darker My Love’s forthcoming Alive As You Are LP expected August 15 via Dangerbird. “Dear Author” isn’t shy to showcase some classic britpop influence. and we love it.

Hugo – Bread and Butter
Hugo info
so word has it, Hugo knows his way around a Jay-Z tune or two. funny how statements like “99 problems but the bitch ain’t one” transcend so many music and cultural barriers. “Bread and Butter” is just as simple and to the point, but doesn’t have anything to do with Jay-Z (roc nation aside). proper folk-rock with the soul of ny city. need we say more?
