Big lead single from Joker. “The Vision” is that sticky, hooky, melodic sort of dubstep that decimates UK music charts. Preview below.

We loved David Dallas’ “Big Time” so much we put it in our Top Tracks of 2009. #23 to be exact. Now Dallas is back with a deal on a U.S. label (Duck Down), a new LP The Rose Tint (that drops tomorrow), and sick new vid for his single “Life Is…”. The clip showcases the New Zealand-born MC’s smooth buttery flow cut visually with bokeh and pretty lights. Classic.

Mayer jumps on b3sci’s consensus second favorite ELO song. Coulda fooled us on this one, Mayer, “sounds so Jeff Lynne”. If only we had the internet power stroke to make “sounds so Jeff Lynne” a meme. b3sci fam you know what to do. Thx to our buddies at SKOA for the tip and the track.

I guess this means Girl Talk now has Capo status. Jones jumps on GT’s flip of Honey Cone. Lloyd on the hook. Silky smooth.

The best of the British pop tradition is showcased on “Reckless Serenade”, a little Beatles, a little Kinks, a little Northern Soul, and a little bit Weezer (OK, not so British but that guitar lead at 2:06 is totally “Pink Triangle”). “We were good as married in my mind but married in my mind’s no good.” All the same, “Reckless Serenade” is an ace track. Suck It and See is due 6th June. Assist to our family at SKOA on the track.

CDQ of the new Gaga single “The Edge of Glory” just dropped to the interwebs within the last few minutes. Definitely feeling this more than the first couple singles. The tune’s last bits even seep into 80’s Springsteen territory a bit complete with fat sax and uplifting vibes. Clarence Clemmons. Tip to our friends at Hard Candy Music

Pala is album of the year material. The cooled out title track of Friendly Fires new mindblower of a LP just might be our fav song off the record yet. All the best trappings of 80’s 90’s R&B (some of our favorite music) are here and mixed up with the best electronic music those genres influenced and then all tied together with the Fires’ stunning pop sensibility. Records like Pala are why we do this.

I really liked She Wants Revenge’s 2005 debut album, and it had the killer hit “Tear You Apart”. Things got quiet for the boys after that, but they’re rebounded really nicely with their “Take the World” single. The song has thedarkness we expect them them, but it’s less clubby than we might have anticipated. The groove might not have torn me apart, but it definitely has sucked me in.
