“Say Yeah”, new from “Down” hitmaker Jay Sean, sounds like an outtake from Usher’s Confessions record. Not that that’s necessarily a bad thing (Confessions produced something like 15 #1 hits), the track definitely references/looks back to that era though. An era before electronica invaded into r&b, an era that was more about a lighthearted good time, an era before autotune. If anything, listening to “Say Yeah” will make you feel good. Hit the play button.

Maybe the toughest track we’ve heard from Kiss in a minute. The gritty “Grind” is the first drop from Jada’s upcoming Top 5 Dead or Alive mixtape. Pissed Jada is best. We don’t want Slow Jam Jada or Braggadocio Jada, we want Angry Focused Pissed Jada. A+ track from Pissed Jada.

One of our favorite soul sisters is back with a hot new track. Goapele’s been in the game for a minute, she’s prob most famously remembered for her feature on the classic Hiero track “Make Your Move”, but “Play” might be her strongest song yet. Here the Bay Area songstress embraces small bits of varying pieces of contemporary r&b and electronic music. Goapele’s “update” to her sound is seemless. (AV)

Wow. Mindblown. “Lucky Woman” which has been around for a few months was picked up by Jamie xx as part of his Essential Mix for Radio 1. We’ve had it on repeat ever since. Wow.
