Odesza – All We Need (John Digweed & Nick Muir Remix)

odesza

Legendary Bedrock Records production duo John Digweed and Nick Muir (whose 90’s Trainspotting soundtrack helped to define the modern progressive house genre) transform Odesza’s enchanting and poppy “All We Need” into a seamless tranced-out club remix with a brilliantly bemused techno-dance beat. WOOF. – Tiny House

woof

The sometimes cheeky and multi-talented one-man-show Woof. endears with his playful new indie folk rock single “Tiny House” which he released on Soundcloud this past weekend. Woof, who as a singer-songwriter-musician resonates somewhere between an early Beck and Thom Yorke, also recently debuted his upbeat, remarkably awesome, experimental self-titled EP. Review: Milo Greene @ Sonos Studio, Los Angeles 01/15/15

Milo at Sonos

Reviewed by Geovani Donaires

Milo Greene’s second record Control is due to drop on January 27th. Control is the follow up record to their s/t debut, which was released in 2012.

“The band is still figuring out who does what,” stated member Marlana Sheetz, as they were interviewed by Ann Litt from KCRW, at the Sonos Studio in Los Angeles. Members of the band agreed with Marlana’s comment, by adding that the band is democratic; and there is no lead in Milo Greene. From their debut to this second album, vocals from Andrew Heringer, Robbie Arneet, Graham Fink, and Marlana Sheetz are distributed among the tracks. In the interview, Ann Litt contrasted the first two albums as, “different but rooted in lyrics. It’s cinematic and it’s up tempo,” she continues with, “it’s energy with a dark side and there is a cohesion among the chaos.”

Milo Greene fans should be excited that the band are “still figuring things out” as Maralana mentioned early in the interview. Sheetz added that, “as the band grows new things pop up and, the bigger it becomes the less control you end up having.” The session ended with acoustic performances of new tracks from Control, including singles “White Lies” and “Lie to Me”.

OOFJ – I Forgive You

oofj

OOFJ, the duo of real life couple Danish composer Jenno Bjørnkjær and vocalist Katherine Mills-Rymer, announce the theater-driven third single of their collaboration “I Forgive You”. Within an orbit thematically of Portishead or even Bjork, OOFJ’s “I Forgive You” is ambitious but also very effective in its thematic potency. “I Forgive You” is excerpted from Acute Feast which is out April 21st on Ring The Alarm / Fake Diamond.

Slum Sociable – Anyway

slumsociable

Melbourne duo Slum Sociable have just put out a groove-laden debut track “Anyway” and it’s resonating well. They describe themselves as “Lofo Jazz Hop” which loosely translates into some cool Cinematic Orchestra-esq harp and hazy vocals draped over a brilliant downtempo dub track. There’s little info to be found about the duo at this stage, besides their names and location, but with their first local show on a bill with Nas, Odesza & How To Dress Well ticked off, plus rumours of a forthcoming EP, you shouldn’t have to wait too long to satisfy your craving for more like this.
