Ryan Hemsworth – Afterglow

hemsworth

Canadian Producer Ryan Hemsworth goes all melody-sentimental with a cheery tone-drenched strings-laced clear-auric back-to-classics instrumental chill track called “Afterglow” which excels for its warmhearted Bob Marley-melody and guttural synth-heavy sense of feels. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Electric Wire Hustle – Brother Sun (Feat. Kimbra)

ewhbrothersun

Jam out to New Zealand psychedelic-soul duo Electric Wire Hustle on their ambient-expressive cumbersome-weighted new one “Brother Sun” which features an off-kilter-transverse hip-hop leaning vivid-opposite beat that meshes well with the dreamy soul-inspired emotion-stirring vocals of Kiwi B3 remix-darling Kimbra—a Grammy Award winner who we think makes the production. We enjoy the mellow disco-scratch-jazz hybrid sentiments driving the song and look forward to enjoying Electric Wire Hustle’s new upcoming “Aeons” EP out on August 28th. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Reis – Grown

reis

Reis is an up and coming artist from Indianapolis, Indiana. A friend of mine showed me his Soundcloud page and I have quickly become a fan. His new project is debut EP “Here Goes Nothing” featuring four strong track including my favorite (and featured here), “Grown.” The track is over a catchy G-Eazy beat that Reis, in his rhymes does justice towards. Buzzing LA-based 4-piece Transviolet gets a strong remix from Twin Shadow on “Girls Your Age”. TS’s added guitar riffs alone make this remix a stand out but the new groove and the drums take it over the top. Feel the head-bob inducing flip below. Reviewed by Tony Perkis.
